About the Event

This fascinating and intriguing evening has acclaimed author Whitley Strieber introducing the film of his best-selling book, Communion. Both the hardcover and paperback edition of Communion reached the number one position on The New York Times Best Seller list (non-fiction), with more than 2 million copies collectively sold. After the showing of the film, Mr. Strieber will host a Q&A for audience members.

In the book, Strieber contends that he was abducted from his cabin in upstate New York on the evening of December 26, 1985, by non-human beings. Although the book is perceived generally as an account of alien abduction, Mr. Strieber drew no conclusions about the identity of the alleged abductors, and referred to the beings as "the visitors," a neutral term chosen to entertain the possibility that the abductors were not extraterrestrials.

Whitley Strieber is the author of many bestsellers, among them Communion about his encounter with entities from another reality, Jesus: A New Vision, which restores much of the lost history of his teaching, and, most recently Them, which looks at close encounters and government secrets in a completely new way. Many of his books have been made into movies and TV series, including The Wolfen (1978) and The Hunger (1981). He has maintained a dual career of author of fiction and advocate of paranormal concepts through his best-selling non-fiction books, his Unknown Country website, and his podcast, Dreamland.
