What is the Lily Dale Assembly?

We are an international Spiritualist community and member organization dedicated to practicing and sharing our faith through prayer, meditation, healing, and mediumship. Our global membership participates through education, service, and community involvement. Guided by established bylaws, members serve as ambassadors of Lily Dale and Spiritualism in their own communities.

Declaration of Principles

Spiritualism is guided by a set of enduring principles that express the core spiritual understandings embraced within the Spiritualist tradition. These principles are not intended as a rigid creed, but ratheras a spiritual framework that encourages individuals to explore truth, live ethically, and grow in their personal relationship with Spirit.

  1. We believe in Infinite Intelligence.

  2. We believe that the phenomena of Nature, both physical and spiritual, are the expression of Infinite Intelligence.

  3. We affirm that a correct understanding of such expression and living in accordance therewith constitute true religion.

  4. We affirm that the existence and personal identity of the individual continue after the change called death.

  5. We affirm that communication with the so-called dead is a fact, scientifically proven by the phenomena of Spiritualism.

  6. We believe that the highest morality is contained in the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

  7.  We affirm the moral responsibility of individuals, and that we create our own happiness or unhappiness as we obey or disobey Nature's physical and spiritual laws.

  8. We affirm that the doorway to reformation is never closed against any soul, here or hereafter.

  9. We affirm that the precepts of Prophecy and Healing are Divine attributes proven through Mediumship.

Our Past

Founded over 140 years ago, Lily Dale is a place of renewal and discovery. Beyond mediumship, its legacy is deeply rooted in healing and early social movements, including women’s suffrage.

Hold fast to this truth and say to those who would have it something else...the world is wide...so go your way, we would have no new Gods placed upon the altar. Spiritualism is enthroned in this camp and outside issues must be kept to their own realm...guests to be entertained but not allowed to monopolize or overthrow the camp."

Our Present

Today, Lily Dale is a vibrant Spiritualist community offering a summer program, year-round activities, and a home to over 50 registered mediums, all set within a peaceful and welcoming environment.
